Overview

VERSIONは、アバター、そっくりさん、ホログラム、ゴーストが登場する映画です。この中編SF映画は、Théo CascianiとLou Rambert Preissの共同監督で、近刊小説の一章を翻訳するために様々なメディアを組み合わせています。この章の登場人物は人格分裂と体外離脱の狭間ですれ違い、迷い、そして都市やバーチャルな領域に身を置き、記憶をめぐって戦い、消えたアイデンティティの未来を想像します。
本作は、2023年に出版されるテオ・カシアーニの小説『MAQUETTE』の朗読シリーズの第2段として上映されます。映画は本の章と同じ数の12のエピソードで構成され、作者が著作の秘密を出版まで保持することで作品の発表が商業的ツールに変化するという従来の図式の逆転が試みられます。したがって、このプロジェクトは小説の出版を準備すると同時に、素材がまだ柔軟なうちにテストし、さまざまな実践から得た他の見解や感性と向き合い、さまざまなチャンネルを使ってこの小説の環境を徐々に整備していくことを目的としています。異なる出来事のサイクルは、コンサート、会議、パフォーマンス、パーティー、インスタレーション、訪問、ショーなどの形をとり、また、非現実的な環境としてラジオ番組、オンラインでアクセスできるビデオゲームでも展開されます。そしてそれらの出来事の集積である映画『VERSION』はパリのポンピドゥーセンターをはじめとするフランスと、海外の複数のスペースで同時上映されます。このイベントベースの伝播行為は、デジタル時代における定義と複製との関係を問うこの映画の周りに、非物質的な方法で観客を集めることを目的としています。

VERSION is a film populated by avatars, look-alikes, holograms and ghosts. This medium-length science-fiction film, co-directed by Théo Casciani and Lou Rambert Preiss, brings together different mediums to translate the chapter of a forthcoming novel. Between split personality and out of body experiences, the characters of this chapter cross paths, get lost and then find themselves in urban or virtual territories to fight over memory and imagine the future of a vanished identity.
This film is the second stage of the series of readings of Model, a novel by Théo Casciani to be published in 2023, composed of twelve episodes as many chapters in the book. From then on, it is a question of reversing the classical schema that an author has to keep his text secret and then transforms its presentation into a commercial tool. Therefore, this project aims as much to prepare the publication of the novel as to test the material while it is still ductile, to confront it with other views and sensibilities from a wide variety of practices, and to use different channels to gradually install the climate of this fiction.
The different occurrences of this cycle will take the form of a concert, a conference, a performance, a party, an installation, a visit or a show, and will also be deployed in non-eventual settings, a radio program and a video-game accessible online and finally namely the film VERSION screened simultaneously in several spaces in France and abroad, in multiple locations, at the same time. This event-based diffusion aims at gathering audiences in an immaterial way around this film that questions our relationship to definition and duplication at the digital age.

Biography

Théo Casciani

作家。1995年生まれ、マルセイユ在住。パリ政治学院で学んだ後、ブリュッセルのLa Cambreのコンテンポラリーライティングワークショップに参加し、現在はそこで教鞭をとる。2019年、Éditions P.O.Lから処女作『Rétine』が出版される。彼のテキストは、AOC (FR), Possession Immédiate (FR), Peinture Fraîche (BE), Actoral (FR), Frac PACA (FR), SISSI club (FR), Sabir (BE), Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers (FR), LFW (UK), Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (FR) 、Florence Loewy（FR）、GöteborgsOperans（SW）、le Fresnoy（FR）、Ricard Foundation（FR）、京都芸術センター（JP）、Chantal Crousel（FR）、Mouvement（FR）、Chailot-Théâtre National de la Danse（FR）、Centre Pompidou（FR）などで紹介され、作品のいくつかは複数の言語に翻訳されており、最近ではENSAV-La CambreとUniversité Libre de Bruxellesが主催するSPECULORセミナーが開催されている。また、いくつかの助成金を受け、さまざまな分野のアーティストとの共同プロジェクトを数多く主導している。現在、2023年の出版を目指し、コスモゴニーを執筆中。

Lou Rambert Preiss

映像作家。2018年にローザンヌのÉcole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne（ECAL）を卒業し、短編映画を監督して映画祭（Locarno、Palm Springs、Côté Courtなど）で賞を獲得し、多くの施設（Cinémathèques françaiseとスイス、マドリードのCirculo de Bellas Artes、ケ・ブランリ美術館、Jacques Chiracなど）で紹介された。また、Comédie de Genèveでもいくつかの演劇作品に携わっている。開発中のプロジェクト（Journées de SoleureやSofilm de Genreなど）に対して、さまざまな助成金やレジデンスを獲得している。

Théo Casciani

Théo Casciani is an author. Born in 1995, he lives in Marseille. After studying at SciencesPo. He joined the contemporary writing workshop of La Cambre, in Brussels, where he now teaches. Rétine, his first novel, was published by Éditions P.O.L in 2019. His texts have been presented by AOC (FR), Possession Immédiate (FR), Peinture Fraîche (BE), Actoral (FR), Frac PACA (FR), SISSI club (FR), Sabir (BE), Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers (FR), LFW (UK), Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (FR), Florence Loewy (FR), GöteborgsOperans (SW), le Fresnoy (FR), the Ricard Foundation (FR), the Kyoto Art Center (JP), Chantal Crousel (FR), Mouvement (FR), Chaillot-Théâtre National de la Danse (FR), or the Centre Pompidou (FR). Some of these works have been translated into several languages and have recently given rise to the SPECULOR seminar organized by ENSAV-La Cambre and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He is the recipient of several grants and leads numerous collaborative projects with artists from different fields. He is currently writing a cosmogony to be published in 2023.

Lou Rambert Preiss

Lou Rambert Preiss is a filmmaker. He graduated from the École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne in 2018, where he directed short films that won awards at festivals (Locarno, Palm Springs, and Côté Court, among others) and were presented in numerous institutions (Cinémathèques française and Suisse, Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, etc.). He has also been associated with several theatrical creations at the Comédie de Genève. He has received various grants and residencies for his projects in development (Journées de Soleure or Sofilm de Genre for example).
